For many young people in rural Honduras, a high school education remains out of reach. At educate., our scholarship programme – at the heart of a holistic model of student support – is helping change that reality. We are building a community where education is a right and where youth leadership drives lasting change.
Last week, six young women from our scholarship programme reached a remarkable milestone: graduating from high school, each one of them becoming a first generation high school graduate in their families.
One of these students was Dariana, who was awarded her diploma in accounting and finance from the Trinidad evening school, where she has completed her studies thanks to an educate. scholarship. Coming from a rural community, reaching this milestone was far from easy.

“Before receiving the scholarship, one of my biggest challenges was affording transportation to school, which often jeopardized my ability to continue my studies,” she shared. “The educate. scholarship has been an immense support. I dream of graduating and, in the future, having my own business. I know that with hard work and the support I’ve received, that dream is getting closer every day.”
Dariana hasn’t only completed her studies – she has also become a leader within educate. Every Saturday, she has participated in our youth arts programme, EducArte. Over the past three years, she has developed skills in drawing, painting, and community muralism. This year, she co-led the creation of a community mural on youth-led peacebuilding and gender justice, and facilitated painting workshops for local children. Sharing her talents has strengthened her confidence and leadership, and sparked change in her own community.

Our scholarship programme is the core of our mission. While our youth in rural areas face enormous barriers, at educate. they receive not just scholarships but mental health support, tutoring, access to resources, leadership development skills, and community-building opportunities that help them envision – and realize – a different future.
Support the programme in 2026
We believe in young people like Dariana as leaders, and in education as a catalyst for transformation – within families, schools, communities, and beyond. With your donation, we can ensure that this vital programme remains strong in the coming year.
100% of all funds raised between now and the end of the year will go directly to our scholarship programme in 2026, supporting students like Dariana, who has been able to achieve this milestone thanks to this programme’s existence.
Dariana says: “To those who make this programme possible – people with kind hearts and immense compassion – I want to express to you my deepest gratitude. Thank you for believing in young people like me; your support truly transforms lives, and I hope you will continue walking with us on this path filled with dreams.”
Every donation goes towards making this possible for other young people from rural communities. Thank you – from all of us – for your support.
