We believe education doesn’t only happen in the classroom. Through our youth programmes, we creates spaces where children and young people from rural communities can explore their interests, develop new skills, build relationships and take on real leadership roles.
From football and robotics to art, photography and reforestation, our programmes give young people opportunities to learn by doing – and to discover what they are capable of.
Our Programmes
Our programmes are run by youth, for youth. Every week at our Youth Center, 100+ young people from rural communities gather to engage in STEM, visual arts, sports and community journalism activities.
UniDeportes
Sport for leadership, teamwork and gender justice
UniDeportes uses football and other sports as a space for young people to build confidence, develop leadership skills and strengthen relationships across communities.
The programme creates opportunities for girls and boys to participate together, while workshops explore themes including gender equality, healthy relationships, leadership and wellbeing.
Young people also organising sports activities, tournaments and events, developing leadership skills both on and off the pitch.
TecnologÃa con Propósito
Hands-on STEM, creativity, and problem-solving
Our STEM programme introduces children and young people to technology through practical, hands-on learning. Often, this programme is the first time young people have the opportunity to learn how to use a computer!
Participants learn about computing, coding, robotics, and problem-solving, with activities designed to make technology accessible and relevant to young people from rural communities.
EducArte
Spaces for creativity and self-expression
EducArte creates opportunities for young people to explore art as a form of creativity, expression and active participation. Through drawing, painting, sculpture and community muralism, young people develop creative skills while engaging with their communities and the issues that matter to them.
Art also provides a different way for young people to communicate ideas, tell stories and imagine alternative futures. In doing so, young people go beyond developing technical skills and learn to use art for social change.
Joven Comunica
Young people as storytellers
Joven Comunica gives young people the tools to document and share stories from their communities.
Through photography, video, writing and public speaking, participants develop communication skills while learning to tell stories from their own perspectives.
We believe young people should have the opportunity to shape the narratives about their lives and communities — rather than simply being represented by others.

Youth Leading Youth
Young people don’t just participate in educate.’s programmes — they actively lead them.
Many of our youth leaders started out as participants or scholarship students themselves. As they develop their skills and confidence, they take on greater responsibility: facilitating workshops, running programme activities, teaching younger children, and organising community events.
This creates a cycle of learning and leadership.

Leadership, Gender Justice and Peacebuilding
Within and beyond these programmes, we also create spaces for young people to explore issues that affect their lives and communities, including gender justice, sexual and reproductive health and rights, peacebuilding, and climate justice.
